The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He hath created man. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
