A large group from the earlier generations. 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 BUT AS FOR those who have persevered in evil - what of those who have persevered in evil? 41 [They will find themselves] in the midst of scorching winds, and burning despair, 42 and the shadows of black smoke 43 neither cool nor good. 44 Indeed they were among favours before this. 45 And they persisted in the great violation. 46 and would say: "What! After we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 47 And so will our fathers?" 48 (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 Fill your bellies with it, 53 and on top of this you will drink boiling water 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 Such will be their dwelling on the Day of Judgment. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Behold! that which ye emit. 58 Do ye create it or are We the Creator? 59 It was We who decreed death among you. We will not be surpassed 60 that We may exchange the likes of you, and make you to grow again in a fashion you know not. 61 And assuredly ye have fully known the first production wherefore heed ye not? 62 Have you considered what you sow? 63 Is it you that cause it to grow, or are We the causers of growth? 64 We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day, 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 Nay, but we are deprived! 67 Did you cast a good look at the water that you drink? 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 Have you considered the fire which you strike? 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We Ourselves made it for a reminder, and a boon to the desert-dwellers. 73 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74
