The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
