Surely We have created man, and We know the promptings of his heart, and We are nearer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 He utters not a word but there is by him a watcher at hand. 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 (He will be told), "You were completely heedless of this day. We have removed the veil from your eyes and your vision will now be sharp and strong". 22 And his companions shall say: This is what is ready with me. 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 forbidder of good, transgressor and doubter, 25 "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty." 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 Allah will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat. 28 The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. 29
