The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
