The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
