A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif, Lam, Meem, Sad. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 Follow that which is sent down toward you from your Lord, and follow not any patrons beside Him; yet little ye are admonished. 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 Therefore they uttered nothing when Our punishment came to them, except that they said, “Indeed we were the unjust.” 5 Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it 6 And verily, We shall recount their whole story with knowledge, for We were never absent (at any time or place). 7 The balance that day will be true (to nicety): those whose scale (of good) will be heavy, will prosper: 8 And as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is light those are they who have made their souls suffer loss because they disbelieved in Our communications. 9 We established you in the land and provided you with a means of livelihood there: yet you are seldom thankful. 10
