Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)

۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 in a lofty Garden 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
