The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
