In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many ancient generations did We destroy? (On facing Our torment) they cried out for help, but it was too late for them to escape. 3 And they marvel that there should come unto them a warner from among themselves. And the infidels say: this is a magician and a liar! 4 “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" 7 To him of all of us has the Reminder been sent down?" They are still in doubt about My admonition; but they have not tasted My punishment yet! 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or [that] the dominion over the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? Why, then, let them try to ascend [to God-like power] by all [conceivable] means! 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 The people of Nuh and Ad, and Firon, the lord of spikes, rejected (apostles) before them. 12 And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties. 13 not one [was there] but gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon My retribution fell due. 14
