The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He has created man: 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
