The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blessed is He who has revealed the criteria (for discerning truth from falsehood) to His servant so that He could warn mankind. 1 The One to Whom belongs the kingship of the heavens and of the earth, and has not chosen a child, and has no partner in His kingship, and He has created everything and kept it in proper measure. 2 And they have taken besides Him gods, who do not create anything while they are themselves created, and they control not for themselves any harm or profit, and they control not death nor life, nor raising (the dead) to life. 3 The unbelievers say, "This (Quran) is no more than a slanderous statement which he (Muhammad), with the help of some other people, has falsely invented." Certainly, this statement is unjust and sinful. 4 And they said, “These are stories of the former people, which he has written down, so they are read to him morning and evening.” 5 O Muhammad, say to them, "This has been sent down by Him, Who knows the secret of the heavens and the earth." The fact is that He is very Forgiving and Merciful. 6 They say, "What sort of a Messenger is he that he eats food and moves about in the streets? Why has not an angel been sent down to accompany him and threaten (the disbelievers)? 7 Or, why has no treasure been thrown to him, or a garden for him to eat from' And the harmdoers say: 'The man you follow is surely bewitched' 8 Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way. 9
