Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 and the partitioners, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
