The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the star when it plunges, 1 Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. 2 nor does he speak out of desire. 3 Indeed it is not except a Revelation which is revealed, 4 Taught to him by one intense in strength - 5 One vigorous; and he grew clear to view 6 While he was in the highest part of the horizon: 7 Then he drew near and hung above suspended, 8 So he was the measure of two bows or closer still. 9 So Allah divinely revealed to His bondman, whatever He divinely revealed. 10 The [servant's] heart did not give the lie to what he saw: 11 Will you dispute with him what he saw? 12 He saw Him indeed another time 13 Nigh unto the lote-tree at the boundary. 14 Near it is the Garden of Abode. 15 When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote-tree, 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 Assuredly he beheld of the sign of his Lord, the greatest. 18 So did you observe the idols Lat and Uzza? 19 and the third one, Manat? -- 20 Are there sons for you, and daughters for Him? 21 That is indeed an unjust division. 22 They are naught but names yourselves have named, and your fathers; God has sent down no authority touching them. They follow only surmise, and what the souls desire; and yet guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 Or shall man have whatever he fancies? 24 Nay! for Allah is the hereafter and the former (life). 25
