Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven becomes cleft asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 watching over you 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 to burn therein. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
