The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
