Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
