The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The people’s reckoning is near, whereas they are in neglect, turned away! 1 Whenever any fresh admonition comes to them from their Lord, they listen to it, but do not take it seriously; 2 Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?" 3 Say, "My Lord knows every word spoken in the heavens and on the earth. He is All Hearing, All Knowing." 4 Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Quran which are inspired to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" 5 There did not believe before them any town which We destroyed, will they then believe? 6 And We sent not (as Our messengers) before thee other than men, whom We inspired. Ask the followers of the Reminder if ye know not? 7 And We did not create them without bodies so they would not eat food – nor that they abide on earth forever. 8 Our promise to them came true and We saved them and those whom We wanted, but destroyed the unjust people. 9 We have revealed for you (O men!) a book in which is a Message for you: will ye not then understand? 10
