The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
