So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?" 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 Or say they: He hath invented it? Nay, but they will not believe! 33 Let them bring a discourse like thereunto, if they say sooth. 34 Have they not been created by aught, or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad SAW) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes, and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep. 48 And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. 49
