The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
