The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
