Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
