The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 He verily will be content. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
