۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 on couches facing each other. 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 Are we not then to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
