Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha Mim 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "I am but a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God: go, then, straight towards Him and seek His forgiveness!" And woe unto those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
