The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 A Register inscribed. 20 Which is witnessed by the close ones. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
