The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the white forenoon 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 6 Did He not find you wandering, and give you guidance? 7 And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you? 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 but proclaim the blessings of your Lord. 11
