Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8 in columns outstretched. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
