The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He has created man: 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
