Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In an elevated garden, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
