Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Oh, the chargers that run panting, 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 while running during a raid at dawn, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 Penetrating deep into the armies, 5 VERILY, towards his Sustainer man is most ungrateful 6 And lo! he is a witness unto that; 7 And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. 8 ۞ Is he not aware that when whatever lies (buried) in the graves is overthrown; 9 and the secrets of the hearts are laid bare (and examined)? 10 Verily, that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) their Lord will be Well-Acquainted with them (as to their deeds), (and will reward them for their deeds). 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
