S (Saad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad. I swear by the Quran, which is full of reminders of God, (that you are a Messenger). 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before their time [for this very sin]! And [how] they called [unto Us] when it was too late to escape! 3 And they marvel that there should come unto them a warner from among themselves. And the infidels say: this is a magician and a liar! 4 “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention. 7 Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom. 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for them? So would they not just ascend using ropes? 10 They are only a small band among the defeated confederate tribes. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 There was not one of them but treated their messengers as liars, so My punishment rightly overtook them: 14
