Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 and will succour you with wealth and sons, and will appoint for you gardens, and will appoint for you rivers. 12 strengthen you by (providing) you wealth and children, and make gardens and streams for you. What is the matter with you that you are not afraid of the greatness of God 13 who has created you in several stages? 14 Do you not see how God has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 so that you may walk along its spacious paths?" 20
