S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad. I swear by the Quran, which is full of reminders of God, (that you are a Messenger). 1 In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape! 3 They wondered that a warner had come to them from among themselves, and the deniers of the Truth said: “This is a sorcerer, and a big liar. 4 Has he made the gods [only] one God? Indeed, this is a curious thing." 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 We have heard nothing like this in the latest religion. This is only his own false invention. 7 What, out of all of us, has the Remembrance been sent down to him (Prophet Muhammad)' No, they are doubtful about My Remembrance, no, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 This is just one of the disgraced armies, that will be routed there and then. 11 The people of Nuh and Ad, and Firon, the lord of spikes, rejected (apostles) before them. 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
