Do not think Allah is heedless of the evil deeds in which the evil-doers are engaged. He is merely granting them respite until a Day when their eyes shall continue to stare in horror, 42 (And) they would hasten forward, heads lifted upwards, gazes fixed, and emptied out their hearts. 43 So warn mankind of the Day when the Wrath will reach them: then will the wrong-doers say: "Our Lord! respite us (if only) for a short term: we will answer Thy call, and follow the messengers!" "What! were ye not wont to swear aforetime that ye should suffer no decline? 44 “And you dwelt in the houses of those who had wronged themselves and it became very clear to you how We had dealt with them, and We illustrated several examples for you.” 45 And indeed they carried out their scheme, and their scheming is within Allah’s control; and their scheme was not such that could move these mountains*. (* The revelations / signs of Allah.) 46 So do not deem that God will fail in His promise to His Messengers; surely God is All-mighty, Vengeful. 47 [It will be] on the Day the earth will be replaced by another earth, and the heavens [as well], and all creatures will come out before Allah, the One, the Prevailing. 48 On that Day you shall see the guilty bound in chains, 49 Their garments will be of pitch, and fire will cover their faces. 50 That Allah may requite each soul according to its deserts; and verily Allah is swift in calling to account. 51 This is the message to be conveyed to all mankind – and in order to warn them with it, and for them to know that He is the only One God, and for men of understanding to heed advice. 52
