Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 What though they would say, 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him) 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
