Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 storming tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 as black camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
