۞ Thy Lord hath decreed, that ye worship none save Him, and (that ye show) kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age with thee, say not "Fie" unto them nor repulse them, but speak unto them a gracious word. 23 And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: "My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood." 24 Your Lord knows best what is in your minds; if you are good, then He is surely Forgiving to those who turn (to Him) frequently. 25 So give to your relatives what is their due, and to those who are needy, and the wayfarers; and do not dissipate (your wealth) extravagantly. 26 Do not be a wasteful spender. Squanderers are the brothers of satan. Satan was faithless to his Lord. 27 If you are not able to assist them, at least speak to them in a kind manner. 28 And neither allow thy hand to remain shackled to thy neck, nor stretch it forth to the utmost limit [of thy capacity,] lest thou find thyself blamed [by thy dependants,] or even destitute. 29 Truly, your Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills and straitens (for whom He wills). Verily, He is Ever All-Knower, All-Seer of His slaves. 30
