Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
