The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
