Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
And We did not send a prophet in a town but We overtook its people with distress and affliction in order that they might humble themselves. 94 But when We changed hardship to ease, and they rose and prospered, (they forgot Our favours) and said: "Our ancestors had also known suffering and joy." So We caught them unawares. 95 Had the people of the towns believed (in Our revelations) and maintained piety, We would have certainly showered on them Our blessings from the sky and the earth. But they called Our revelations lies, thus Our torment struck them for their evil deeds. 96 What! do the people of the towns then feel secure from Our punishment coming to them by night while they sleep? 97 Or are the people of the townships then secure from the coming of Our wrath upon them in the daytime while they play? 98 Did they then feel secure against the plan of Allah?- but no one can feel secure from the Plan of Allah, except those (doomed) to ruin! 99
