The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 by those who reprove severely, 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Most surely your Allah is One: 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock 12 When they are reminded, they do not remember. 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 it and say, "It is only plain magic". 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 And our forefathers? 17 Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.” 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 'This is the Day of Decision, even that you cried lies to. 21
