And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
