Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning to mortals, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 "Till death overcame us." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please.
