Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
