Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well pleased with the result of their striving, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
