Such is the argument that We gave Abraham against his nation. We raise whom We will to an exalted rank. Your Lord is Wise, Knowing. 83 We gave him Isaac and Jacob, each of whom We guided as We had guided Noah before. Among his descendants were David and Solomon, and Job, Joseph, Moses and Aaron. Thus do We reward the righteous. 84 And Zechariah and John and Jesus and Elias - and all were of the righteous. 85 Ishmael and Elisha, Jonah and Lot-each one We preferred above all beings; 86 And also some of their fathers and their progeny and their brethren: We chose them and guided them onto the right path. 87 That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whomever He wills of His servants. But if they had associated others with Allah, then worthless for them would be whatever they were doing. 88 Those are they unto whom We vouchsafed the Book and judgement and prophethood. Wherefore if those disbelieve therein, We have surely entrusted it unto a people who are not disbelievers therein. 89 Those were whom Allah guided. Follow then their guidance and say: 'I do not ask you a wage for it. Surely, it is a reminder to the worlds' 90
