Al-Dhaareyaat 2 of 3
Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. 46

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
