Samood rejected the warning. 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Why - on him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed? Nay, but he is a boastful liar!" 25 'They shall surely know tomorrow who is the impudent liar. 26 Lo! We are sending the she-camel as a test for them; so watch them and have patience; 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Every drinking will be witnessed. 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 So how dreadful have been My torment and My warnings. 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 32 The people of Lot rejected the warnings. 33 Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, 34 As a favour from Us. That is how We reward the grateful. 35 And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning. 36 And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 37 and early in the morning the punishment decreed overtook them -- 38 "So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 39 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 40

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
